Picoscope 6.13.7.707 sometimes just stops responding

Post by dnessett »

I have again experienced the Picoscope 6.13.7.707 beta software becoming non-responsive. I originally reported this behavior as a problem using a 100 Hz frequency span (see topic39790.html) and I later thought the problem was operator error (selected single triggering). But, now I experienced the same non-responsive behavior using a span of 10 KHz, so I am retracting my "mea culpa" and now believe there is a bug that causes this problem. Unfortunately, it appears to randomly occur and so I cannot provide a recipe to drive the software into a non-responsive state. The only way I found to get around the problem was to quit and restart Picoscope.

As we are working on a cross platform version of the software it is unlikely that we would be able to investigate this issue, particularly as it is difficult to reproduce.
