Channel Setup for TA167 Current Probe

Post by pdavitt » Tue Mar 26, 2019 4:48 pm

I have a Pico TA167 Current Probe. When I setup the Channel I do not find this probe in the "standard" probe list. Is one of the listed probes compatible with the TA167? If not, could you please assist with setup parameters for the TA167. Or, is it just best to select 1x or 10x depending on the measurement range I select on the probe?

Thanks,
Pat

Hi pdavitt,

I've created the custom Probes for both ranges of the current clamp below:

TA167 Current Clamp (2000 A range).psprobe
(1.29 KiB) Downloaded 14 times
TA167 Current Clamp (200 A range).psprobe
(1.29 KiB) Downloaded 11 times

Gerry,
Thanks for the custom probes, they are a big help. I hate to be a pain, but I also have a TA041. I am currently using the x10 or x100 system probes, depending on selected scale. Is that ok, or do I need a custom probe for the TA041?
Just trying to make sure I have everything setup correctly.

Hi Pat,

That's O.K. The x10 and x100 probes in the drop down list will work fine.
