Zooming in and out discards waveform data

Post by PhreakShow »

Hey everyone,

I just encountered a weird issue on my 3406D MSO. I am measuring an SPI with 4MHz, software version 6.13.15.4081.

A CS
B clock
C MOSI
D MISO

Trigger is set for rising edge on channel B, trigger works. I set the scale to 500µs/div and 1GS, all channels at +/- 5V.

I capture a waveform (trigger single and repeat), of course with the 500µs/div I have to zoom in with the SPI at 4MHz. The time axis goes from -0,5ms to 4,5ms.

After zooming in on a single SPI byte and checking on the edges, bit width, etc, I zoom out again. But all the data has been cropped, it is just gone. All that remains is the little speck that I just zoomed in upon.

After that I click Tools, Reference Waveforms, and the data pops just back on the screen. That's a bug, right?

Hi PhreakShow,

What you're describing is a drawing error, which I will log with our development team if they are not already aware of it. In the meantime, You have a simple workaround for it.

Thanks, and regards,
