Model 2205A + microphone

Post by BLA »

Dear all,

I am completly beginer :)
Would you be kind enough to help me to chose a basic microphone to use with Model 2205A. I do not need piezo microphone.

Can I use for exemple:

If yes, do I need an additional item, like amplificator ?

Many thanks

Condenser Microphone like the one one you mentioned require a Amplifier Circuit.

You could simply use a cheap PC microphone, the type with a 3.5mm stereo jack plug.
If you buy 3.5mm stereo socket and connect it to a 3-5Vdc supply. Connect '+' in series with a 2k2 resistor to the 'ring' and '-' to the 'sleeve'.
You could use a 3x AA/AAA battery holder and batteries for the dc supply (4.5Vdc).
Then connect the scope probe to 'tip' and the scope ground clip to 'sleeve', and then set the scope channel to AC coupling.

See https://www.hobby-hour.com/electronics/ ... ophone.php for the diagram and more information.

Standard 3.5mm microphone jack pin out
Signal (tip)
+5V bias (ring)
Ground (sleeve)
