Automotive Scope

Post by umiq88 »

Hi,

I'm looking to purchase an automotive scope however I'm restricted to only buying from two suppliers who don't list the automotive scopes.

I'm also brand new to the world of oscilloscopes and engines so bear with me.

The 3000 series seems to be within my price range. Is this a suitable scope and can it work with automotive attachments. My immediate requirement is for measure ignition coil secondary voltage.

Also can the automotive firmware be run on a non automotive scope? If not is this a big limitation?

We have specialist automotive scopes designed for use in the automotive environment. They have a modified version of the PicoScope 6 software, to enable quick set up of the scope for guided tests, additional software for Diagnostic Testing , and access to the Waveform Library with known good and bad waveforms from specific vehicles.

We do not recommend using our Test and Measurement scopes for automotive tests, and doing so would invalidate any warranty.
