Hi there,
I'm trying to carry out some research and need to gather large data dumps using the scope, but exported data only includes the data in the current frame.
Is there any way to export everything? or to log it to an external file as it's collected?
Getting all serial decoded data
Re: Getting all serial decoded data
Hi Gareth,
You should be able to decode all buffers, by selecting all buffers, instead of current buffer in the Serial Decoding Toolbar. You can then export all of the data to CSV.
Regards,
Gerry

Re: Getting all serial decoded data
Hi Gerry,
Thanks for getting back to me!
I have tried that, but the data seems to disappear. So, it'll have say 20 rows then some will disappear and it'll drop to maybe 12 and it'll just keep fluctuating. When I export the data to CSV it only seems to export the data currently displayed in the serial decoding window. When really I'm wanting to get everything that it decodes, even the data not displayed in the window.

Re: Getting all serial decoded data
If the scope is still capturing data it will just display the decoded data for the current buffer, but if you stop the scope it will decode for all buffers in the memory if you have that selection enabled, which may take a little while to process so there should be a progress bar.
Alternatively collect the data with the serial decoding disabled and then enable the decoding once you have collected the data.

Ah! Fantastic!
I've never really waited long after stopping the data capture before exporting. I'll give it a go after the holidays and see if that sorts anything.
