PicoScope3000aOpen fails to open communication with a 3205D

Post by spflanze » Fri Sep 28, 2018 5:23 am

I have a 3205D I am integrating into a LabVIEW application running in Windows 7 and Windows 10 OS. I tried out PicoScope3000aOpen.vi by opening the VI and running it alone. It failed with error 5003, "PICO_NOT_FOUND", and returned a handle value of -1.

The 3205D is plugged in to a USB 2 port, and the LED is illuminated red. The Device Manager shows "This device is working properly.".

What might have gone wrong here?

This problem is solved. It was plugged into a USB 2 port, and I did not realize until now that VI's "2-channel USB 3.0 device on non-USB 3.0 Port" has to be pressed in this case. Also, if this VI has already been executed, the handle has to be closed before this will work again.

Thank you for letting us know, and yes you need to close the device before you can run again, and before you exit LabVIEW otherwise the device can be locked out.
