Why no immediate display of DC supply signal?
I have a 4V DC supply to a croc clip which I am tapping on the +ve input to Ch A. What should I see? I was expecting a blue line at 4V to appear and disappear with each touch. But on most of the times I've tried this I get no display at all.
I've so far not established what differs on those occasions when it does display. I suspect it's another manifestation of the problem I described earlier about absent displays.

Sounds like it. If the channel is enabled in the tool bar but it's axis is not present on the left or the right of the screen, that channel will have been disabled from view as described in the other post.
