PSDATA-Format

Post by JoAs »

Hello,

why is it not possible to give information about PSDATA-file-format?

I know, that it is proprietary.. but the other formats are not a good option (txt and csv is bad, MAT-format is still buggy, eg. see topic13385.html).

It would help to give some hints, no proper support, not offically supported.. but we would like to use the data directly in a Python-script.

So to point this out: the direct use of PSDATA in other tools brings a more valuable solution.. for Picotech and for the customers..

Thanks and best regards,
Josef

It depends on how good hacker you are.

Back in 2012 I did this, just because I want to know if I can do it :D.
If I remember correctly it was a couple of hours work to find out the basic format, this is enough for reading the data.

I don't have any documentation anymore or source code so I can not help you with it.

We are currently creating new Python examples that allow you to collect data directly within Python, please email support@picotech.com for early access to these.

The new Python examples allow you to collect the data directly to Python bypassing the need for a .psdata file, the decoding of the .psdata file format is not possible as it is a proprietary format.
