We have the 5444D MSO; I'm finding some difficulties using the PicoScope 6.13.6.3775 software and viewing/saving off the captured data in a usable form.
In a nut shell, with 4 analog scope probes and 16 digital probes active, the software won't show all the signals on screen at once. I can see the 4 analog , or 12 of the MSO digital signals, and have to scroll around. The MSO signals are also clipped at 3 letters for labels.
Is there any work around / beta that
- allows longer labels to be displayed? With 16+4 signals, explaining/cross referencing every waveform is extremely tedious.
- Prints to a png/pdf with ALL signals and time range captured, not just prints what is visible on the screen at once.
I hard talk of a new major release coming - is there an eta? Is it going to be called PicoScope 7.? Just wondering what to look out for, and if it might fix any of these issues.
Unfortunately for the 5000D MSO's there is an issue when setting up the analog and digital channels in particular sequences. However, you can either use a non-intuitive way to set it up, or you can just load in a setup file. I've chosen the easy route and below is a setup file you can use with all Channels setup and enabled:
Regarding longer labels for the digital channels, unfortunately there is currently no way of displaying more characters. I will Log a fix and enhancement request for the 2 above issues to our development team. In the meantime, as a workaround, you could use a sticky Note app (https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/post-scre ... s-windows/) to create a column next to the PicoScope digital channel display (covering the limited 3 character labels). I use Stickies (for other applications) which is free of charge and allows me to have it hovering and attached to a specific window, so that when the window closes and opens, it appears directly attached to the window.
Regarding saving all data to a png or pdf file, you can do that by going to File->Save As.. and selecting png or pdf as the "Save as type"option from the drop down list. The file saved will be sized according to the PicoScope window that you had open at the time of saving, which means that if you've saved data files as images, when you open them you can have a sticky note opening and displaying the replacement labels that you created for PicoScope 6.
Unfortunately, I'm not able to give you any details of up and coming software.
