PicoScope 3406D MSO not working

Post by danielrflor »

Hello all!

I'm using PicoScope 3406D MSO and software's version 6.12.9.2917
PicoScope 6.

I'm using a system with:
Windows 10 Pro 64bits
8 GB RAM
Intel (R )Core(TM) i3-7100 CPU @3.90GHz

The PicoScope is not being found by software. I tried the folowing steps:
1) I verified the device manager list on windows, and the device was there
2) I verified the AC adapter and it was properly connected.
3) I tried to use only the USB cable to power the device, I used the two
endings of the cable. I was asked if I wanted to power the device from USB,
I chose this option, so, the green led on the device blinks and remains
turned off. The software stay waiting for data indefinitely.
4) I unninstalled the software and install it again, but it did not work.
5) I tried to use it in another computer without sucess.
6) I tried to use it with the USB 3.0 cable with a computer that has
USB3.0, but it did not work either

The red led always stay on when I plug the device, it remains on until I
try to open the software,so, the green led blinks and remains turned off.

I always turn the device off and unplug it from computer after use it.What
could be happened ? Yesterday, it was working fine but, today, it is not
working anymore.

Do you have any tip ? I'm in Brazil, Is there a tech support that I can
have contact if it will be necessary ?

With my bests regards,
Daniel.

This may be as simple as updating the drivers.

If you go to device manager locate the PicoScope in the list and then update the driver it should locate an updated driver which is now available directly from Microsoft as part of the new driver signing process.

Thank you Martyn, I did your recommendation. I opened the device manager's list of Windows and updated the PicoScope driver, it updated to a new one. So, I restarted the computer and tried to use PicoScope, but the problem persists, nothing changed.

Please locate the trace.xml file as shown in section 3 of this Guide and send this to support@picotech.com , we can then look at what the issue may be.
