IP Sockets on PicoLog 6

Post by KeithS »

Hi,
I'm enjoying the new PicoLog 6, but I can't locate any options for IP sockets.
Did I miss something? Or did I miss an install option?

Thanks

Hitesh

Hi KeithS,

The PicoLog 6 software does not support IP sockets at this moment. I will raise a new feature request.

It might be useful to provide some information on the use case.

Hi Hitesh,

That's quite disappointing. I am collecting data from a Pt104 connected to a remote computer in another part of our building, and using this data to produce ISO17025 calibration certificates.

I'll continue to use the setup that I have now which works really well, but I do like the 'look & feel' of the newer software.

Cheers,

Keith

Hi Keith,

Thank you for the update.

There are USB over WiFi/LAN extenders available which might help - one example which has been tested with some of our products is the IOGear GUWIP204.

We are in the process of adding support for devices with an ethernet connection (the PT-104 and the PicoLog CM3).

If you do wish to discuss this further, please e-mail support@picotech.com

Thanks Hitesh - it's good to know that you are adding this feature to the new software. USB TC-08 support would be good ;)

I will look into the 3rd party product that you suggested.

Again, thanks!

Hi Keith,

The USB TC-08 does not have an ethernet port so it would have to be used with a third party USB to Ethernet converter to be used over an ethernet connection.
