What am I doing wrong?

Post by watusimoto »

I got a new 2206BMSO scope yesterday, and I'm trying to generate a simple sine wave. The device has no probes plugged in, but all I'm getting on channel A is a bit of noise (see pic here: https://i.imgur.com/YImNEH0.png). Any idea what I'm doing wrong, and why I don't see the nice sine wave that I see in all the videos that demonstrate this feature? I've tried all manner of zooming in and out and setting different time and voltage scales, to no avail.

Thanks!

To see a signal from the generator you will have to connect this to Channel A, there should be an accessorie you can connect to the probe tip to allow you to insert it into the BNC connector of the sig gen.

That worked. In retrospect, it should have been obvious. The documentation should probably note this, rather than implying it will just magically assign the waveform to a channel, as happens in demo mode.

Thanks for your help!!!
