Band width of a 100MHz scope is greater than of a 200MHz

Post by egonotto »

Hello,

why is the band width of my PicoScope 100MHz 5234A greater than the band width of the PicoScope 200MHz 5444B?

The pictures show the same signal with same BNC cable with 50 Ohm terminator.

The rise time of the 100MHz scope is slightly faster than the rise time of the 200MHz scope.

Best regards

We would like to do some testing on units here, so can you post a psdata file, we will then have the exact setup you have, and confirm that you are using the signal generator to generate a 1MHz square wave as your input signal.

Hello,

I use the signal generator of the 5444B for input to a Rigol DS2072.
The trigger output of the DS2072 has a rise time near 1ns.
This output is the input for the 5444B and 5243A.
I connect alternative the 5444B and 5243A. So they got the same signal
The signal has a 50Ohm termination.

I also feed the 5444B and 5243A with the output of a tracking generator with 300 MHz.
The same signal for the 5444B and 5243A.

One see that the band width of the 100MHz 5243A is about the same as the band width of the 200MHz 5444B.
