converting psdata files (with overrange signals) to text

Post by mrhorne »

I capture transient (amplitude and frequency) dynamic signals that have portions of overrange data. This is inevitable if we want to get best amplitude resolution on a much smaller section of the signal. When I convert the psdata file to text the portion of overrange creates garbage value, instead of just using the clip level (for example 200 mV if 200mV is the max range) for that section of data. Has anyone else noticed this ... is it a possible bug ... is it going to be changed in future versions of PicoScope?

Hi mrhorne,

This is expected behaviour. If the output format was changed, it could have an impact on other users.

I would suggest undertaking a find and replace in the text file to change the over-ranged value to the voltage range limit.

Hope this helps,
