Accurate temp sensor for copper pipe

Post by geoff »

Hi,

I'm looking for some accurate temp sensors (+/- 0.1K) that can be attached (clamped) to a copper pipe - I can then insulate the sensors. The means of connected these back to a computer (cat5 preferable) and the method for extracting information (non Windows based) are important.

What's available?

Thanks.

Hi, If you want to log recorded temperature over time with high accuracy I would suggest you take a look at the PT-104 here:
http://www.picotech.com/pt100.html
This is a 4 channel device that connects via RS232 to a PC and in addition to the supplied Windows based logging software, there are drivers and examples for users wishing to write there own custom software. Sensors use a differential input and so CAT5 cable could be used if required.
I hope this is of some interest.

Regards,
David
