Serial packets lost

Post by seamelin »

I'm trying to monitor a 3V3 UART at baud rate 56700/8N1 using a 2205AMSO. My problem is that only a small part of the packets (charters) I type into the terminal are visible and serially decoded in PicoScope. Any idea what could be the reason for this?

The packets that are shown are generally correctly decoded, and I have verified several times (using a loopback connection) that the characters written to the terminal are actually put on the line. Could the lost packets be lost in buffer switches or something similar?

Is there any reason why serial decode at the baud rate mentioned above would not work with my Picoscope, or should I assume it's broken?

Can you post a .psdata example file ?

A data file would help to confirm but I guess you are collecting to multiple waveform buffers and sometimes the packets are sitting across the gaps between these and so can't be decoded correctly.
