Viewing a saved .psd trace without scope attached?

Postby hillp » Fri Oct 06, 2006 6:14 pm

The y-axis values on a saved .psd trace are all screwy unless the scope (ADC-11/10 parallel) is attached. Is there a workaround for this, so I can send a colleague traces by email and not need to send him the scope? Saving the trace as text, importing into Excel, and graphing in Excel is too cumbersome.

You will need to specify the correct device in the psw.ini file located in the installation directory. Please add the follwoing lines depending on the unit you are using.

If no unit is attached, then specify ForceDevice=1110 for 10 bit, or ForceDevice=1112 for 12 bit devices.

Many thanks,

Thanks for the advice, but it didn't work just yet. The y-axis values
are still displaced way high, some off the top of the graph; no change
from before. I wonder if I need to strip something out of the psw.ini
file as well?

Here's what the psw.ini file looks like now, after inserting the line
about forcedevice:

[PicoScope for Windows]
Data=C:\Documents and Settings\gl2905\My Documents\My Documents
a\chunkin\2006 traces

Also, the help file in picoscope says, about forcedevice in psw.ini:

Allows the opening of ADC-212/50, ADC-212/100, ADC-200/50 and ADC-200/100 data files without the unit connected.
Allowable values: 50, 100

Does this imply it can't be done with the ADC-11?

Again, the files display correctly if the ADC-11 device is attached to
the laptop, but not when the device isn't.
