"Dirty" signals

Postby DedeLaMouche » Fri Dec 09, 2016 7:20 pm

Hello everybody,

I just installed my new Picoscope 2205 without problem, but as I watch the screen to show a 5V square signal, the signals are full of oscillations even if I remove the probes or short them.

Anybody an idea how to correct this?

Thanks in advance.

That looks normal, it is an 8 bit scope so there will be 256 discrete levels for a given voltage range and, as there will always be a small amount of noise in the input stage, this will result in the traces you see.

If you want to clean up the signal a bit then select the Channel options button and apply some resolution enhancements.
