Z axis input

Post by Alec »

I want to log the output from a home-built sidescan sonar to my laptop. The signal is a bit like slow-scan video, with one channel as line trigger, and a second channel with a luminance (or greyscale) signal.

Can I configure a system that would show the signal level as greycale (like the Z axis input on an ordinary scope) and thus build up a line by line slow-scan image?

Hi

Thank you for your post.

Our Picoscope software supports a mode called "Analogue Intensity". This mode emulates the phosphor display of a conventional analog scope and is useful for displaying complex analog signals such as video waveforms and analog modulation signals. The area of the trace that has the highest population density is the strongest colour. The area with the lowest population density and/or high slewing rate (low risetime/falltime) is the lightest colour.

Would this suit your application?

Best Regards
