labview panel for Picoscope 3205

Post by cpinkle »

Hello everybody!

I just bought a picoscope 3205 and wanna use labview to program a userpanel like a normal oscilloscope.
I got a good start with PS3000.vi, but I don't find the specifications for timebase, range and trigger source (i.e. Ext, ETS,...)? There are only numbers and I don't find anything about it in the documentation files.
But probably, I'm just too blind... ;)

It would be nice if you can help me out!
Thx for your time and keep up your good work!

Hello,

I have attached the full library of VI's for the 3000 series.

In order to access the download, you will need to hit the post a reply button and scroll down the page to this message where you will see the ps3000.zip file.

This should contain all you need.

Best regards,
Michael

Hey Michael!

Thx for your quick reply!

But two infos are still missing... The timebase for the 3205, there are still numbers?
Furthermore there are no trigger options like ETS or Ext.Trigger, but these infos are very important to me...;) There are only active and disabled?

Hello,

The timebase is not fixed but varies depending on the unit you have. Simply, it is a reference to the shortest sample interval (0). The next timebase (1) is twice the sample interval of 0. 2 is twice the sample interval of 1 etc, etc.

I have attached another VI specifically for the ETS trigger mode.

Please give it a try and let me know how you get on.

I have not yet tested it so it may not work in its entirety.

Best regards,
Michael

Source, you can choose 0-5 in my version of ps3000.vi... What does this numbers mean from 0-5...

I will test this new vi of you asap.

That would be great!
