PicoScope crashes at startup in Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

Post by emalian »

Hi,
Received my brand new PicoScope 3406D MSO today, and thought I'd give it a go. I quickly ran into trouble, though. The PicoScope Linux SW crashes at startup if my picoscope is connected to my computer. If I start the SW without the scope connected, it starts up fine. If I then connect the scope and do File->Connect device, the SW crashes. Dmesg really did not give much clue as to what goes wrong. But adding some dmesg output anyway below. I'm running Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, updated as of today, on a standard desktop computer (~5 years old). Any clues as to what is wrong?
BR,

Malin

This ended up in the wrong forum. I have reposted it to PicoScope, Linux.
