Signal Generator will not start in Sweep-mode

Post by ziKarl »

When using the PicoScope Software the first time (or emulating this by deleting 'psw.ini' and 'PicoScop 3206 SETTINGS.pss') the Signal Generator will not start when Sweep-Mode is set active (also checkmark 'Repeat Signal').

The reason is the default value of 0.1 'Increment' Field. After changing this field to any value greater than 1.0 the generator will work.

Setting back the increment value back to < 1.0 the signal generator seems locked, no frequency or waveform changing is possible.

Deactivating the Sweep-Mode will also release the lock.

Best regards, Karl

BTW: Is it normal, that low frequency waveform (eg. square, 5 Hz) looks very distorted ?

Hello,

Thank you for pointing this out.
I will pass this first time running issue to the software development team. They will follow this up.

The square wave will start to distort at lower frequencies. This is due to the configuration of the signal generator. The primary purpose of the square wave is to tune attenuated probes. This inlolves using a higher frequency.

Hopes this helps.

Best regards,
Michael
