Phase and Transfer Function Calculations

Post by daveshel »

Hi,
I was hoping someone could help me with a few somewhat related questions about extracting transfer function data from Picoscope systems...

1. Is there any way to obtain phase info in spectrum analyzer mode for Pico 3206? I used a 216 in the past and phase info was readily available but I can't find it with 3206 version.

2. Is there a way to ratio signals with 3206 in spectrum analyzer mode to calculate transfer function? If not, do you have any recommendations on the "easiest" way to rapidly dump raw data and perform all the windowing and FFT calculations needed (e.g. Labview, Maple, or even Excel???) ?

Thanks!

Hello Dave,

YOu can easily calculate RMS and FFt within excel although you will be restricted to about 60,000 rows.

For bigger chunks, consider matlab or even access.

YOu can use PicoScope to collect the data and export to text format.

Best regards,
Michael
