Post by Cars&Keys »

Hi
Im noobie in this world, i buy the picoscope 2205, i will use this to test ecus and automotive sensors, i have a noobie doubt? How i can test components with the picoscope? like resistor, diode, condensator, etc. I know that another oscillescope have this mode, i must use the signal generator but, someone can make me a little guide or introduction? how i can use this in my picoscope?

Thanks you and sorry for my bad english! :D

We have specialist automotive scopes, and software, that allow you to test components in the car in live situations. Full details can be found on our Automotive Website

The 2205 is not an automotive scope and we do not recommend it's use on the car. If you are looking to remove sensors from a car to test in isolation then you need to work out what input is required to generate a given output. It may be possible to use the generator on a 2205 to provide the input, and use a channel to view the output, although this will depend upon the sensors.

Do you have the knowledge of what individual componenets (diodes, resistors etc) will do when a signal is applied to them, or are you looking for pass / fail testing.
