I was in the assumption that 12Mbit is always USB1 / USB1.1 and USB 2.0 always 480Mbit (downward compatible with USB1)

All isolators i found are 'Fully USB 2.0 Compliant' (in my opinion these are still USB1.1 devices)
And because USB2 is backwards compatible with USB1.1 they can claim this.

But it seems you are allowed to call your device USB2.0 with only 12Mbps speed.

@Benno:
Yep, the advertisement around the specs is confusing, who’d think it might be done deliberately?

USB 2.0, as I understand, requires better cable quality for the possibility of High Speed transmission (but also allows 5m instead of 3m).
So saying “USB 2.0, Full Speed only” may translate to “best cable required, simple interface”.

When we see an old USB cable we tend to think “one for all” - but it isn’t.
Even 2.0 marked (?) cables are not always the same (see the Pico cable).

Microtek, famous for scanners, have some (old) tech info re their cables:

@PicoPilot
Intona USB Isolator allows for 300 mA max. at the isolated side.
My 4227 draws 500mA when attached to an normal USB port.
=> Picoscope 6 will not see that device
