Internal Resistance of Probes & 2206A

Post by tstauffer »

I bought a PicoScope 2206A and liked to measure the inductance of a few coils. To do this properly I need to know the internal resistance of the PicoScope (especially the AWG) itself and the probes (1x and 10x). I was unable to find that information on your homepage. I tried to estimate it myself (with an external resistor) and with this was able to be within ca. 20% for the inductance. But it would be nice if you can provide this values or tell me where to find them.

Hi tstauffer,

The output resistance of the AWG is a 600Ω, and the input resistance of a channel input is 1MΩ.

A x1 probe has a small resistance of about 50Ω, and a x10 probe has resistance of 9MΩ. When plugged into the oscilloscope the x1 probe has 1MΩ and x10 has 10MΩ
