We are planning to use the tc's in the form of mesh with 5 nos. tc's, this mesh consisting of 5tc's will be fitted inside a duct to measure the temperature of air. we would like to have response time of tc's less than 10 milli seconds and the temperature range is 0-100deg.C. can you pls. whether your tc's can be to use and what type.

The exact application will be air passed thro the duct is heated thro heaters of 11 Kw capacity and the 5 no. tc'are mounted on a wire mesh, the mesh will be in the form of a rectangle and fixed in between the duct to measure the air temperature. the 5 tempertures measured is averaged and taken to data logging for further processing.

Hello,

Thermocouple response rates vary greatly and cannot be guaranteed. For a response rate of 10ms, I fear it would be very difficult to do this. You may want to use some kind of optical measurement such as Infra Red imaging.

Our TC08 thermocouple data logger has a conversion time of 100ms per active channel plus 100ms for the cold junction compensation. This is obviously not fast enough for your application.

Best regards,
Michael
