Problem with Picoscope 2202 in WinXP

Post by Misurec Oldrich »

Hello
We bought Pico 2202. I Install application from supplied CD and then connect oscilloscope to USB. System finds new hardware and installs it. After that system find new hardware again and install it. (Don’t understand why).
I started picoscope software. After start on screen shown signal, but after about half second it frozen and no reactions. It wasn't possible do anything with it nor switch off. I tried it again uninstall and install and every time it was same.
When I tested it in win 98 it works without problem.
Have you any idea where can be problem?

Thanks

Hello,

Please be aware that the software you received with your scope may not be the latest software. Please download the latest version of our software from our website: www.picotech.com/software.html

Best regards,

Hello,
It sounds like Windows is not installing the driver correctly.
This could be because the scope is connected to the PC when the software is installed.

The USB installation process will happen twice. You must let the New Hardware wizard run both times. The first time is for the USB1.1 driver and the second time is for the USB 2.0 driver.

Please try these following steps. Make sure you are logged in as Administrator!
1. With the scope connected, uninstall the scope from the device manager.
2. Disconnect the scope from the PC.
3. Download and install the latest software version from our website. Select PS 2000 as scope.
4. Restart the PC.
5. Now plug in the Scope.
6. Windows will run the New Hardware Wizard 2 times. Once for USB 1.1 and again for USB 2.0
7. Check Device manager for new USB PicoScope.
8. Now run PicoScope software.

This will install the scope drivers correctly.

If this is not successful, please don't hesitate to contact me.
