PicoScope 2204A Not Found on Mac OS 10.11.1

Postby precisely » Fri Oct 23, 2015 7:58 pm

Hi,

I just got my new PicoScope 2204A to try it out on Mac OS. The device is not found.
I was finally able to get PicoScope 6 to run (a hassle, unfortunately), but it doesn't find the device.
Before ordering, I successfully built and ran a command-line app, based on the ps2000a API and it returned:
PS2000A driver example program

Enumerating Units...
Picoscope devices not found
Program ended with exit code: 1

Now, that I have the device connected, I still get exactly the same result.

Has anyone else had trouble with a device that couldn't be "seen" by the Mac?

Thanks.

The 2204a requires the ps2000 drivers, not the ps2000a drivers, so you will need to rewrite your code using the ps2000 API

I'm not sure why a 2204A would not work with the ps2000a drivers, but I rebuilt the app with the ps2000 API and it worked just fine. It still isn't recognized by PicoScope6, which doesn't make sense, either, but I was more concerned about using my own code, anyway.

Thank you.
