Driving a Solid State Relay with PicoLog 1216

I need a little help driving a solid state relay from the PicoLog 1216. The PicoLog outputs 3.3 v, but with the 1K Ohm series resistor the output is not enough to fully turn on the solid state relay. Does anyone have a workable driver circuit or some thoughts on one? I'm thinking about using a quad comparator powered with 5 volts with a voltage divider and anything above 2.5 volts at the non-inverting input being "on" for that output.

I'm rather a newbie, and my question is: Is this the best route? Any help or comments would be appreciated.

Hi KEggemeyer,

The PicoLog 1216 output, can directly drive the base of a suitable transistor (or gate of a suitable FET) such that the collector (or Drain) can "Pull Down" the coil of a relay (the other end of the coil being taken to, say, +5v. To be safe, add a small diode across the relay coil to protect from spikes (+Ve of the diode to the +Ve end of the coil).
