re dvr card

hi have xp home on 2800 intel 256mem trying to install pico 2000 after installing card and software say key cannot be found see dealer if problem persists can anyone help me pleas have removed and reinstalled rebooted system but still get error message used pico200 104 as directed for single camera (does camera need to be connected for sofrware to work?)
