3406D - Triggering on a byte in serial protocol analysis

Post by rkt-tech »

When doing protocol capture of an async (ASCII/RS-232) datastream, I would like to trigger the scope on a bit pattern, specifically 0x1D. What would be even better would be if I could trigger it on one byte followed by another, specifically 0x1D followed by 0x06.

(All of the packets I'm interested in start with 1D 06, and there are many packets that I'm not interested in that start with something else, so it would help a lot of I could use 1D 06 as the start of a packet capture.)

Is there a way to do that? I searched through the "help" and found nothing.

Thanks...

Triggering of the scope on serial data is not possible, decoding is performed after capture of data, however it is possible to filter and display decoded data in the table view according to certain criteria.

We will continue the discussion in the helpdesk support ticket you have.
