using adc-11 to measure reading from tensometer

Which product is right for your exact requirements

using adc-11 to measure reading from tensometer

Postby s.allitt » Tue May 10, 2005 9:27 am

We have just purchased a Pico ADC-11 data logger to enable us to transfer results from a Monsanto tensometer directly to a PC. Previously readings were displayed on a graphic plotter.
How do we go about connecting the data logger to the tensometer? We have already loaded the software on the PC

the sampling rate of the machine is unknown, the output is between 20 and 500 mv, through 4 channels.

Hi

Thank you for your post.

I believe you will need to simply connect the output of the sensor to the logger inputs. You then need to experiment with sampling rates to see which works best.

You may find that some amplification of the output is useful in order to bring it further into the 0 to 2.5V range of the logger and use more of it's resolution.

Hope this helps

Best Regards
Sarah
