How to limit the number of captures saved to disk

Post by wpats »

Hi,

I recently purchased the 3206D MSO and have been using it to observe and capture intermittent pulsed waveforms. I have been able to use the alarm feature to save captured waveforms to disk. This works fine when I am physically present at my scope/laptop setup and am there to stop the capture when I have enough recordings. I want to do unmonitored recording of waveforms to disk. The input has an arbitrary number of pulses which trigger recording. But I want to limit the number of captures so that I have only some fixed number of representative ones without the danger of filling up the disk over long periods of time.

How can I do this ? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi Patrick,

Try changing the maximum number of waveforms via the Tools -> Preferences dialog.

In the Alarms dialog you can then set PicoScope to stop capture once the buffers are full.

I hope this helps.
