Installing pico 5 on win7 32 bits fails

Post by trezel »

Hi,

I'm trying to install picoscope5 and picolog on PCs running Win7 32 bit.
Everything seems to be OK first (Pico's directory created, icons on the desktop), and it asks me a last question about Windows Security : Would you like to install this software : USB bus controller ?
I authorize, of course, it starts installing, then removes everything and tells me : assistant was interupted before the end of installation... click to end...

Could you please help me understand what happens ?

Thanks

Hitesh

Hi trezel,

You may have to disable the parallel port on the PC via the Windows Device Manager at the time of install if there is one.

Have you tried installing the latest version of PicoLog (5.23.0)?

Please could you open a Windows Command Prompt with Windows Administrator Privileges and use the 'cd' command to change to the directory where you have downloaded the installation file e.g.

cd C:\temp

will take you to the temp directory on your C drive if there is one.

Please run the following command (assuming that you have downloaded PicoScope 5.21.2:

PicoFull_r5_21_2.exe /v"/L install.log"

Please note that you can also use the PicoScope 6 Automotive software with the ADC-212 device.

Installation works when disabling parallel PCI card (and reenabling it after of course).

Thanks
