Trigger from either of 2 channels

Post by pwright »

I need to be able to trigger from either of two channels which will be used almost at random. Time pressure during the test will mean its hard to swap the triggering channel or swap the transducers. Is there a way to trigger if either channel activates? Is it possible to trigger from the math channel A+B?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Phil,

I needed such synchronization some year ago.
I added Ch.A and Ch.B signals in hardware using 2 resistors (10k each) and applied
the resulting signal to Ext. Sync. input of the scope.

Which scope do you have ?

There are logic triggers on the newer scopes which will allow this triggering from either channel. Just look in the Advanced Triggers dialog next to the trigger type setting.

Thanks. We have a Picoscope 2205. I'll check the advanced trigger options.
