In a recent forum post http://www.picotech.com/support/topic13697.html we explained how our oscilloscopes maintain a fast waveform update rate even with very deep memory enabled. They can process and display more samples per second than any other oscilloscope on the market.
As well as fast waveform update rates when using deep memory, the PicoScope software can also display thousands of waveforms per second, making it useful for detecting infrequent glitches. In PicoScope 6.9.5 we have again improved the maximum number of waveforms per second that can be displayed. Many products can now display over 20,000 waveforms per second.
The improvement varies from model to model but most PicoScopes will see a doubling of the speed. Some products, including our low-cost PicoScope 2204A (£99 / €158 / $165), see the waveform update rate improve by more than a factor of 10.
A table showing the waveform update rates for different PicoScope models can be found at http://www.picotech.com/oscilloscope-wa ... rates.html.
Our waveform update rates are far faster than other PC-based oscilloscopes and faster than many much more expensive benchtop oscilloscopes. We are continuing to work in this area so expect to see further improvements later this year - as always these will be available by a free update.
