Picoscope 3406B buffer content extraction after power outage

Post by lburnac »

Hello,

I am new to the Pico community and today I have had an experiment with Picoscope 3406B.
The Picoscope was there to take and record the measurements on three channels.
Everything worked perfectly, but in the middle of the experiment the computer had shut down and the Picoscope together with it.
My question is can the data before the shut down be recovered in any way because it is very important to have it?

Thank you!

Hitesh

Hi lburnac,

If the PicoScope experiences a power loss (or starts another run before data is saved), then the data will be lost unfortunately.

Did the PC power down all of a sudden or were you aware that it was about to shut down?

Depending on your setup, you can make use of the Alarms feature to save a waveform each time it is captured or when the buffer becomes full. Note that this will increase the time between captures as data will be saved to disk.

You can view further information on the Alarms feature through the following video which covers saving on a trigger event:

I hope this helps.
