High Voltage Probe

Post by jan131 »

Hi,

i have some problems with a Tektronix P6015A High-Voltage Probe and a PicoScope 5244B. When i connect the Probe to the Oscilloscope it works pretty fine. But when there is a voltage precisely in the range of 2kV pk-pk the Oscilloscope drops out with red light and loosing usb connection. Switch off and on solves this problem till the next 2kV peak.

The P6015A is a passive 75MHz probe with 1:1000 so with 2kV pk-pk it puts out about 2V so there should be no problem for the Oscilloscope.

Any ideas why this happens?

Jan

Hi Jan,

Could you send in a pssettings file to support@picotech.com?
So we can see what settings you are using.

When the device drops out does this symbol occur in the top left corner,
Over Voltage Symbol

Are you using the double headed USB cable, with the device?

Thanks,
