Pico ADC 212/50 suitability for automotive use

Post by Ron »

I have the opportunity of obtaining a 212 / 50 without any accessories or software.

Is this suitable for Automotive use - If I buy the software from yourselves together with cables etc.

Many thanks for your help.

212/50 Automotive Application

Post by Autonerdz »

Hi Ron,

I have an automotive kit available that has the 212/50 and is getting more and more popular. It's many times more powerful than the 212/3 and works well for automotive. The automotive software now supports the 212/50, so you can use the same application.

My only criticism of the 212/50 is that the trigger is too sensitive. This is because it used a hardware trigger. This makes it trigger off of things you may not want it to, but is a small annoyance, considering the power gained by the faster ADC and 128k sample buffers.

Depending on what the cost of your 212/50 you may end up spending more putting a kit together than getting the kit complete.
