disconnect problem in picoscope 5204

Hi
I bought a picoscope 5204 years ago.
I have had a problem with it since i bought it.
It disconnects the device from the computer time and again.
suddenly out of nowhere it disconnects, and the only way to reset is to pull the power plug.

I have tried different computers. same problem, even with the "Picoscope.exe*32 set to high priority:
windows XP or 7 in 32bit or 64bit doesn't seem to help
i have tried a benchtop power supply to exclude its own power supply. still same problem
i have of course tried the different software updates that has been developed.

It seems that nothing really helps.

Do you have an idea of what the problem could be?

This could be one of two issues relating to hardware. Please could you e-mail support@picotech.com and we can then look to ascertain what could be causing the problem.
