Probe compensation off by 10x

Post by erik01 »

Having trouble scaling voltage on 6404D

Using TA133 10:1 probes that came with scope.

Measured voltage is 10% of actual. How do I fix this?

Hi Erik,

What you need to do is tell the software that you are using x10 probes so the software knows to adjust the voltage reading by a factor of 10 to give you the correct readings. To do this, you will need to change the probe setting. This can be done by clicking on the Channel that you wish to change (For channel A for example, click on the A to the left of the voltage range on the screen) and change the probe in the dropdown menu from x1 to x10. Then the software will multiply the reading by 10 to give the correct readings. If you need to use current clamps, pressure transducers, microphones etc and need to convert the readings from voltage to a scaled parameter, you can also accomplish this through the probe settings menu. Let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks Erik!
