60Hz interference

Post by NathanUnger »

Hello,

I know it's been a long time since I've checked the forums, but I recently purchased an automotive starter load tester which has a Torque and an RPM gauge on it. With my picoscope connected across the two gauges, I wanted to use the math channels to calculate horsepower. (HP = T X RPM/5252)
I am getting a lot of 60Hz AC noise on my signals
Is there an easy way to filter it out?

Next question: The starter under test is powered by a full-wave rectified (14v secondary) transformer. As a result, it is difficult to view the current ripple of commutation because that relatively small signal is superimposed on the unfiltered full wave rectification signal. Is there a way to filter out the full wave rectified portion with the scope's math channels or built in filters?

Nathan
