Stack Average

Postby mpdefeo » Wed Sep 25, 2013 5:16 pm

I have been using the picoscope 6404b acquiring a large number of time traces which I then transfer to software and average down to a single trace. Right now my measurements efficiency is limited by the time required to transfer data from the picoscope data bus to my computer. I have read through the documentation on aggregation modes, to reduce the amount of data being transferred, but it appears that none of them suit my needs.

Is there a mode where I can perform a stack average on the picoscope, reducing n traces to a single averaged trace? If this functionality is not in place, are there plans to implement it? If so, when should I expect it?

Best,
Mike

Hi Mike,

There currently isn't a function in the API to do what you are looking for.

This request has been added to an existing feature request. Implementing will depend on the feasibility of doing so and whether the Development Team can accomodate this with their exisiting projects.

Best wishes,
Hitesh
