Virus alert on plw32.exe

Post by einar »

We are using F-Secure Anti-Virus for Workstation (version 9.50.19031).
This morning two of our computers reports plw32.exe as a virus (Gen:Variant.Kazy.240865).
Is this a false alert after virus definition updates?

Hi einar,

We are aware of this issue and are in the process of contacting F-Secure to get the executable whitelisted.

In the meantime you can exclude the file/installation directory through the Settings option in the F-Secure Main Window.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Thank you, that confirms that it is not our files that have become infected, but a false alert.

Dear Einar,

F-secure have now whitelisted the executable overnight so you may wish to reverse the action taken yesterday and remove the file/folder from the excluded items list.
Kind regards,
Ian
