opening pico log on another computer?

Post by odavies124 » Thu Nov 22, 2012 11:00 am

Is it possible to create 3 input channels, define all settings, save and then send in an email to be opened and used on another computer?
I know I have only given basic information here but any help would be greatly apprecitated.
thanks.

Hi,

You can open a settings file on another PC, but if you are connecting it to the same type of device but with a different serial number, you will need to connect to the device again and potentially configure the channels.

You can save the settings file in PicoLog Recorder as follows:

Click File -> Save As, then set the 'save as type' to 'settings file (*.pls)' and save the file to a location on your PC.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for reply, settings were configured with the same unit on both computers.
Have saved settings and sent them attached to email. When opened on second computer the file is blank and there are no saved settings or channels.

Which version of PicoLog are you using?

Try saving the file again and either post it here or e-mail it to support@picotech.com for us to have a look at.
