Dr Daq T measurement using K thermocouple

Post by ridwan80 »

Hi, I am new user of Dr. DAQ and would like to do T measurement using already available K-type thermocople (not Dr DAQ T sensor). I would like to know, In which port should I connect the thermocouple ? What modification should I do in order to get the value (either in T or mV). Also, is it OK to measure the T up to 400 C using this devices ?

Thank you very much for your help.

Hi Ridwan,

Unfortunately it is not possible to connect a thermocouple to the DrDAQ as it does not have cold junction compensation or the correct type of input for a thermocouple.

For 400 C measurements, you need some sort of suitable sensor that can connect via the External Sensor input and has an output voltage of 0 -> +2.5V. The device itself would not be suitable for placing in such an environment.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for the explanation.
Now, I am using pico TC-08 for this purpose.
