TC-08 : PC network interference

Post by juliann » Wed May 09, 2012 6:10 am

We have a TC-O8 unit connected to multiple thermocouples, logging temperature data. We have been using this instrument (serial to serial connection on pc) for a number of years already. It really does the job and we're happy with it. Recently, a connection to our pc network causes the readings to go haywire. Seems to be interference from the network but we are unable to specifically locate the source. Any way of screening / blocking interference from thermocouples ?

Hi Juliann,

What device was connected to the network? Is it in the same room as the TC-08 device?

Please ensure that this device is on the same electrical ground as the TC-08.

What are you measuring and are the thermocouples touchign anything metal?
