PicoScope6 installtion crash windows7 64bit

Post by hans-juergen otto »

Hi,

I tried to install PicoScope6 r6_6_16 on Windows 7 Professional SP1 64bit and got the following error-message: http://s7.directupload.net/file/d/2824/2lb3bvtl_png.htm. Afterwards, the installation is aborted. Is there a problem with the 64bit Version of windows?

Next to the installation problem, I have a second question. Are there 64bit driver to use C# to controll pico oscilloscops?

Thank you for help,

Hans-J.

Hitesh

Hi Hans-J,

The PicoScope 6 software is compatible with Windows 7 64-bit. Have you tried PicoScope 6.6.18 (Release Candidate)?

With regards to the second question, the dll that is currently supplied as part of the SDK for each device is a 32-bit dll. You would have to write a 32-bit application to use it. There are plans for 64-bit drivers but I can't advise on timescales at this present moment in time.

Hi,

thanks for the fast response. I used the RC 6.6.16 from the picotech.com's download section. So, I will have a try with the 6.6.18 version.

Is it possible, to get a notification if a new 64bit driver is available? I'm highly interested in that driver.

Thanks for your help,

Hitesh

Hi Hans-J,

The best way to obtain a notification of any 64-bit driver releases would be to subscribe to our e-mail newsletter:

This way if there are any developments, you will receive information on them.

This appears to be linked to installing in a different language which is now being investigated. Choosing the default English/US version allows the installation to complete.
